Palestinian doctors have warned of a catastrophic situation in the besieged Gaza Strip due to shortage of basic healthcare facilities and medical supplies.
Medical officials in Gaza told a Press TV correspondent that many of those wounded have lost their lives in hospital due to a lack of medical supplies.
Palestinian officials and doctors are now warning of an unprecedented humanitarian crisis across the besieged enclave.
Medics say the death toll is rapidly rising as more injured patients are succumbing to their injuries.
The warning comes as severely injured patients in the Gaza Strip are in dire need of medical supplies after Israeli warplanes and tanks bombed hospitals in the impoverished territory.
Hundreds of patients have been also evacuated over the past 24 hours.
Senior Palestinian officials have described the attacks as a “brazen violation of international norms.”
At least, 334 people are confirmed dead and nearly 2,400 more injured since Tel Aviv unleashed its offensive 12 days ago.
According to Palestinian medical sources, around a quarter of the victims are children.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) says thousands of Gazans have headed to its shelters in the war-stricken region.
On Friday, the UN expressed alarm over Israel’s deadly strikes on the besieged coastal enclave.
Jeffrey Feltman, the UN Undersecretary General for Political Affairs, told a Friday emergency UN Security Council meeting that the death toll from the Israeli attacks is appalling.
The session ended without a workable resolution to save the lives of civilians in Gaza.
